Lakme CC Cream Review

A new product was launched by Lakme- the Complexion Care or CC Cream. We all heard about BB creams and got used to them but now a CC Cream !!! By the way, those who don’t know DD creams have also been launched abroad. I wonder when they will hit India, it’ll just add confusion to our already confused minds. But anyway, this review is about Lakme’s CC Cream. I have used it and I am glad I purchased it.I will also try to compare it with Maybelline’s BB Cream. Read On…

Lakme CC Cream

Lakme Claims:

It combines the goodness of your daily skin cream with just the right touch of make-up to give you that perfect look in just a few minutes.
Its skin care benefits include sun protection (SPF 20), moisturizing, brightening and freshness while its make-up benefits are an even skin tone and basic coverage.
It is Skin Care+Make Up: Brightens, Moisturizes, UV Protection, Conceals, Refreshes, Evens skin tone

It comes in 2 shades: Beige (for a fair to wheatish complexion) and Bronze (for a dusky complexion)

My Experience:

It is a nice product from Lakme. It comes in a nice chic packaging and has the same old Lakme fragrance which is found in most of Lakme products like it’s sunscreens. I am used to that smell as I have been using Lakme products since a long time. But if you are new, you might find this smell li’l too much. But moving on from the smell, it’s texture is creamy and blends so easily. It’s very moisturising so surely a boon for people with dry or normal skin as it’ll save you guys the trouble of putting on a moisturiser. For those with oily skin, one can use a compact or transparent powder so that it sets in and oil doesn’t appear that early.

What I especially love about it is that it gives me a dewy skin(dewy skin is a skin which looks naturally shiny without feeling greasy). No other cream has given me a dewy skin and I absolutely love it.

It does moisturise and even tone my skin. It provides medium coverage and conceals light blemishes. However, if you have dark marks, use a concealer.

I got myself bronze shade which is making my skin dark as I have a wheatish complexion. I should have gone with the beige one but that was not available. I will purchase the beige one when it’s in stock.

How is Lakme’s CC Cream different from Maybelline’s BB Cream: CC cream provides more coverage than BB cream. CC cream has heavier texture than BB Cream, hence a CC cream evens the skin more than BB cream. CC cream has more SPF than BB cream. CC cream gives dewy finish and BB cream gives matte finish.

Swatch of Lakme CC Cream and Maybelline BB Cream

This is how Lakme CC Cream (shade bronze) looks on my skin:

Positives of Lakme CC Cream:

  • Easy to blend
  • Gives dewy skin
  • Moisturizes
  • Evens tone my skin
  • Gives better coverage than Maybelline’s BB cream for everyday look
  • Boon for those with dry/normal skin as they don’t need to use moisturizer prior to it
  • Has SPF 20
  • Stays for 5-6 hours
  • Easy on the pocket

Negatives:

As I have oily skin, I have to use a compact after it and oiliness comes back after 2 hours and I have to use a blotting paper or tissue to remove the oiliness. So those with oily skin like me cannot use it during humid seasons as it’s very moisturizing that can lead to oiliness. It can be used during winters or during those days when we are in AC all the time.

So for really humid days, I ll stick to my Maybelline BB Cream or Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse and use this one for the rest of the days.
